3 Months

Harper is 3 months old today!

She weighs about 13 lbs.

She is 22 1/2 inches long.

So Harper, what have you been up to this month?

You are sleeping pretty good through the night! We have to swaddle you up really tight and it's usually in your car seat, but we'll take what we can get. :) I feed you around 10:30 or so and you will usually sleep until I wake you up around 4 or 5 to eat again (to relieve my discomfort, otherwise you'd probably sleep until 7:30 when I get you up for the day). Your naps, however, are a different story. I'm really trying to get you on a sleep schedule throughout the day but you don't really go for that idea. Which usually results in you being really fussy until you finally give in around 1 or 2pm, then you want to sleep all afternoon. We'll get there eventually!

You have a pretty serious personality so far. You don't smile a whole lot yet, but when you do it's totally worth the wait.

Mom, it's not that I'm serious. It's just that those silly voices and faces you make aren't very funny.

You love your big brother. You watch him constantly and when you do smile, it's usually at him.

Whoa! This dude is crazy!

You are taking Prevacid once daily and Zantac twice daily. I've also been dairy-free for almost 2 months now. I think it's all helping a little bit, but you are still really pukey. In fact, I have a feeling it will be quite awhile before I'm brave enough to carry you in the moby wrap since last time I did you projectiled all over the floor of Ikea.

A bib? A burp cloth? These people grossly underestimate me. Muhahaha!

Your colic (or whatever else is making you so mad) is still hanging on strong. You are really fussy in the mid-morning and then usually scream inconsolably every evening, right around dinner time. I'm not gonna lie and say it isn't wearing on all of us.  Please stop crying? Please? We are so ready for you to feel better!

Well if you would just hold me and bounce me every second of every day I might think about giving you some peace and quiet. Is that so much to ask?

You have grown so much! You're no longer our skinny minnie, that's for sure. You are a great eater and are on a pretty consistent 3-hour feeding schedule. You're already wearing a size 1-2 diaper and it won't be long before you're too big for your 0-3 month clothes.

My cheeks are NOT fat! The camera adds 10 pounds, you know.

 You are our sweet little Harpie Harp and we just can't get enough of you!

 Harper, it's impossible for us to picture our life without you in it. You bring us such joy and happiness, you sweet baby girl! We love you more than you will ever, ever know.
