Already famous.

A couple of months ago, my mom brought me a newspaper article from the Houston Chronicle about a sleeping baby photo contest. She even suggested which picture we should enter, and after a little nudging from her I figured why not? I didn't really think much about it until I got the email letting me know that he was 1 of 30 finalists. And then it was time to get serious, y'all! Right on cue, my fierce competitiveness made its grand appearance, ready and willing to take those 29 other babies head-on.

How dare those other moms think their babies are cuter than mine! PSHA RIGHT!

Oh-no-sir-ee-Bob-I-don't-think-so-not-if-I-have-something-to-say-about-it!

Don't make me get all psycho-crazy-pageant-mom on your booty!

After all, the winner got their picture printed in the paper. That's a big deal, people! The stakes were high! Those far less-attractive babies never stood a chance. ;)     {totally kidding!}

So after 2 emails and a couple of Facebook posts annoyingly soliciting the votes of anybody who cared to listen, I'm proud to say that Harrison won!

Here he is, making his first media debut:

And then, a few days later, Harrison got a package in the mail. The Houston Chronicle sent him these goodies, which were totally unexpected:

Thanks so much to everybody who took the time to log on and vote (some even multiple times)! And surprisingly, I only got one "the crazy mom is making me vote" comment, which of course was from who else but Jon. I admit that it was probably well-deserved, as I did threaten highly encourage him several times. Gotta do what ya gotta do, though, right?  ;)

Yeah, those freakish-looking other babies never stood a chance.

I know you're waiting for me to say, "kidding," but I'm not going to.

Maybe I'm a little biased? ;)
