6 Months

Today my baby girl is 6 months old!

Wait...whaaaaat?! I'm in a little bit of denial about this. Six months just sounds so old. How do I have a baby who has reached the half-year mark already? But at the same time, how has my baby only been in our lives for just six short months? Crazy, I tell you. Crazy. (the concept of time, not me. Okay, maybe me too. But just a smidge.)

For fun I thought I'd make a couple of collages to show just how much she's grown:

Left: car seat test at 2 weeks old. Right: a couple of days ago.

six months of Harper
 As of Monday:
She weighs 16 lbs., 12 oz. (65th percentile, unadjusted for prematurity)

She is 25 inches long. (20th percentile, unadjusted for prematurity)

So Harper, what have you been up to this month?

This month has been a month of more milestones.

You finally decided to roll over.

Ahhhh. My back -- just where I want to be.

You also decided you like sitting up.

Wait a second...the view is much better from up here.

You found your feet.

These piggies are just as nommable as my fingers!

You started eating solid food. Just rice cereal so far but we'll move on to the fun stuff soon enough.

Just look how big you are sitting in the high chair. Sigh.

Dear Food,
Where have you been all my life?
Love, Harper

You only like your pacifier when you are fighting sleep and we force you to take it. Otherwise, you are perfectly content sucking on that index finger of yours. Silly girl!

What? You act like this isn't normal?

I don't know if you are trying to cut your first tooth...or if you are going through a growth spurt...or if it's just because you haven't been feeling well...or if perhaps your brother taught you his devious ways, but you haven't slept through the night one single time for the last 3-4 weeks. What on earth is going on?!?! I was just bragging about you on last month's post about how we have such a great schedule down and you sleep for 12 hours straight. I feel like we have a little newborn again...I guess you just like to keep your tired mama on her toes.

Who, me?

Your personality is really beginning to shine through and my heart simply cannot take the sweetness!

Harper, I am astonished by how much richer our lives have become in such a short period of time. You were like the missing piece to our puzzle that we didn't know was missing. You are a tangible reminder that our God is sovereign and that He knows and fulfills our every need. You have already brought us more joy than I could have ever imagined and words just can't describe how blessed I feel to call you mine. Happy six months, my sweet doll baby!
