8 Months

My baby is 8 months old today!

He weighs 20lbs., 8oz.

He is 28 inches tall.

So Harrison, what have you been up to this month?

You are an official crawler and are getting into EVERYTHING. Just when I think I have the house completely baby-proofed you make sure to show me just how much I overlooked. You are such an independent baby and are always on the go -- and much to my sorrow, you hate to waste any time snuggling with your momma!

This month has been a month of more firsts. You said your first words, which were "mama" and then followed by "dada," but unfortunately you haven't said "dada" to your dada yet. We're working on that. You tried to make it up to him with your first clap -- when he came home from work last week you were so happy to see him that you clapped your hands together in excitement. You also started pulling yourself up to stand and now you cruise along the furniture like a baby on a mission. You can't wait to walk run!

Very soon I will outrun you. Mwahaha!

You love food (wonder where you got that from). You're eating 3 solid meals and about 5 bottles a day and we haven't found a food that you don't like. We even gave you your first taste of lemon and you sucked on it like it was nothing - not even a sour face. Your second tooth came in this month and you love chomping on crackers and cheerios and of course making a huge giant mess every time you are in your high chair.

Pearly whites

Your reflux is still hanging on strong. In fact, Sunday the sweet ladies at the church nursery brought you a giant bib especially for you, which is basically a towel with a hole in it for your head. I guess they figured it's a little easier to manage and more stylish than the beach towels they usually use when you're around.  :)

These people totally underestimate my ability to projectile.

We all know that you are still not sleeping at night. Please sleep. Please? Please!

Boy, I sure am tired this morning.

You are hilarious and a great source of free (well, not really free, but great nonetheless) entertainment. You have learned to fake cough to get attention and do it all the time. You love to blow raspberries and then laugh when people turn to see where all that noise is coming from. You carry your toys around in your mouth so you can crawl around and not have to put them down. You have the funniest little giggle that I've ever heard. You're such a little goofball and make us laugh all the time!

Harrison, we just love watching you grow and learn new things each day. You are such a sweet little boy and we love you so incredibly much!
