17 months and one day.
17 months and one day ago, this little girl made her arrival into the world.
17 months and one day ago, this little boy was 17 months and one day old.
It's hard to believe that he was that young when she was born. Back then 17 months and one day seemed so big. And now it seems so little.
It's really crazy how much has changed in just 17 months and one day.
This was Harrison's "practice" baby. Harper used to be smaller than it! |
These two kids bring rich laughter to our home daily. Hourly, even. They are completely exhausting, but such a joy. They fight, hit, and yell at each other like normal siblings do, but even more often they share, hug, and smile and laugh with one another. I treasure the moments that I get to be a fly on the wall and witness them interacting when they don't know anybody is watching. Harrison is protective of his sister and she adores him (most of the time, anyway :). When she graduated up to the toddler class at church he walked her around, hand in hand, introducing his "baby sister Harper" to all of the other kids. I sure hope they continue to grow up as best friends.
When I think back to how we "planned" to have our kids spaced several
years apart I thank the heavens above that He is the boss and that His
plans are far better than any plans we could dream up. But I also thank God that He has not decided that we need a third newborn at this 17 months and one day milestone. A prime example of the saying that God never gives us more than we can handle. He knows my limit on crazy. :)
